Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have been publishing since 2002, and have 12 books to date in the genres of Christian Fiction, Christian Nonfiction, Business nonfiction, Middle Reader, Mystery, and YA Mystery. My first Sci-Fi Fantasy novel will be out next year.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Tie Died is a YA Mystery and takes off where the Susan Cramer Mystery series left off – only, instead of Susan Cramer doing all the sleuthing, it’s her daughter, Brianne, who has decided to venture into the unknown.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really, unless you count craving chocolate an unusual habit.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
C.S. Lewis, Carolyn Keene, Max Lucado, Beverly Lewis, and Mitch Albom.
What are you working on now?
My most recent book was inspired by my grandson who asked, “What would happen if the world stopped spinning?” The book is called, Light/Shade, and is the story of 10-year-old, Aaden, and his search for safety on a dying planet.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
http://www.ariverofstones.com
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you love. Don’t worry about being on the best-seller list, just write because you can’t see yourself doing anything else.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never give up; never surrender.
What are you reading now?
Harry Potter – the first book.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Going forward in my YA Mystery series, and seeing if I have it within me to write another Sci-fi Fantasy after Light/Shade.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The scriptures; Mere Christianity, by C.S, Lewis; and a book of poetry.
