Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a 49 year old elementary school counselor who has just finished her first book! I have been married to my best friend for 20 years and I am a dog loving, Mickey loving girl! I have three labrador retrievers that I have trained as therapy dogs and I use them in my counseling work. I also love college football and gardening!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Tolerated Not Wanted: Finding God in the Aftermath of Childhood Trauma
I was standing in my kitchen in November 2019 and hear God, almost audibly, tell me to write the story of how I overcame depression/anxiety and found healing in his arms. I argued with him for a while but the message was clear: Write Your Story! So… I did!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes! I write with a very candid, conversational style and I have a habit of using “…” in my writing. My poor editor had to fix most of them. I also write with such passion that I want to end every sentence with an exclamation point! Oops.
