Interview With Author Kevin Wagonfoot
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
GPT
I’ve always been really into figuring out how to get things done easier and faster. I like things to be simple and straightforward because I’m a very literal person. One thing that really bugs me is when I have to read through a long story about someone’s love for meatloaf just to find the ingredients list on a recipe site!
I’ve written a bunch of books packed with unique tips on how to do specific things efficiently. I make sure everything I write is to the point. My main goal is that when someone finishes one of my books, they have clear, useful advice they can start using right away.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent book is called “Organize Your Morning” and its basically how to build an efficient morning routine from the ground up. I’m also working on a series of similar “Organize Your…” books, covering meal planning, thinking systems, and goal-setting.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I feel like I spend about 80% of my writing time on outlining and research. When I feel like I’m ready to write it always seems to just flow.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
James Clear is a big influence, but I read widely.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a series of self-improvement books called “Organize Your Life” covering topics like morning routines, thought processes, meal planning, etc. Its all based on different habits I’ve been experimenting with and various mental models I find useful.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
awesome gang is great! I also have a personal site with a few free books if you’d like to check out my stuff before buying kevinwagonfoot.com
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Its never going to be finished until you publish, always publish before you think you are ready or you never will be.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“We do not learn from experience… we learn from reflecting on experience.” – John Dewey
What are you reading now?
Shogun because I liked the TV show
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’d like to keep publishing short books that improve peoples lives
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d like to bring the Culture Series by Ian Banks and some kind of survival manual I guess
