Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a registered nurse. I live outside of Pittsburgh, PA with my husband and two little boys. My book “360 Health: Your Guide to Cancer Prevention, Healing Foods, & Total Body Wellness” is my first book. I’m so happy that it’s been well-received in the health and wellness community as well as for those living with cancer.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I decided to write the book “360 Health: Your Guide to Cancer Prevention, Healing Foods, & Total Body Wellness” after seeing so many folks living with and dying from cancer. I wanted to spread the word about the things we can do to help prevent the disease and/or to decrease the chances of dying from it.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write while my children sleep, so my patterns are sporadic.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m inspired by those in the naturopathic health arena. Right now, I especially love the work of Dr. Mark Hyman and Dr. Amy Myers. And on a personal note, I admire and aspire to live by the book “Complaint Free World” by Will Bowen.
What are you working on now?
Right now, I’m working with an agent to have my book re-branded and distributed to a wider audience. I also have a blog www.kimmaravich.com, and I write for the websites HubPages, CalorieBee, Remedy Grove, and Heal Dove.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I typically promote through Facebook, Instagram, and by being interviewed on podcasts.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you write about what you love, that will translate into your writing, and your audience will enjoy reading it because it was written with passion.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Be gentle with yourself.
What are you reading now?
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ve been approached by a publishing house to re-work the current title. I have ideas for a second book as well.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Seat of the Soul, Complaint Free World, the Bible
