What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book was published in 2020 and it is titled The Royal Inquest “The Berian Version”. The novel was largely inspired by a deep feeling of trying to show the world the impact black Africans had on the efforts of the Allied armies to defeat the Axis trioka. Africans are rarely depicted as having any influence on the war effort.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Sometimes waking up as early as 3 am when the urge to write strikes me
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The first novels I ever read were Friend Billy and the Msasa Avenue and The Crysalids, with the former a story about school children who work together to thwart an assassination attempt on the President and the latter a novel based on great world creation and themes of telepathy which was the first time I learnt of such a thing which spurred my imagination even more.
What are you working on now?
A novel about the war to gain Independence in modern Zimbabwe which was known as Southern Rhodesia and later as Rhodesia after Smith’s Unilateral Declaration of Independence.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I don’t have any method, I kind of suck when it comes to marketing my books, I really admit I need to engage with someone who is well versed and knowledgeable of promoting books.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write as much as you can and read as much as you can.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write, write and read and read
What are you reading now?
The Strangest Man. A biography of Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac the British theoretical physicist.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to complete my current work and I also to interact with other fellow writers.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Game of Thrones, Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, Quran and Chaminuka a Prophet of Zimbabwe
