Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I grew up all along the west coast, but spent a lot of time near Seattle, which reflects in some of my books.
So far I have 16 works available on Amazon, and I’m in the process of editing and beta reading two more at the moment.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Devil’s Cupid was kind of a passion project for me. I wanted something that could be read quick and in segments, because episodic romances just aren’t done enough! But this series had to pack a punch, and that was a challenge I couldn’t shy away from.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write at night. Like…late at night. It might sound weird so some, but my clearest moments come during the wee hours of the morning. Most of Devil’s cupid was written after midnight.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
When I was a kid Gary Paulson really dragged me into the art of writing, and then Anita Stansfield changed the way I looked at literature in a whole.
And then there’s Marcia Lynn McClure who I owe for bringing me into the world of romance!
Now-a-days I look at authors like Mariana Zapata and Katherine Le Veque for my daily entertainment!
What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working on a couple projects. Both are contemporary romances. One, Heart Ink, is more of a sweeter, feel good romance, while Boyfriend By The Hour is for those who like things a little steamier.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Honestly, a really good strategy in Amazon Sales Promotions really goes a long way without tearing out your pockets. It’s always the first thing I recommend to new and indie authors.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
The best advice I have for a new author is this.
Write because you love it. Write for you and only you, and never compromise.
This is a tough field to succeed in, so if you decide to tread the tumultuous waters, then love what you do, and keep doing it for the love of writing.
Get a thick skin and get stubborn until you meet your own version of success!
Also, get a thesaurus and some beta readers.
Those are important too!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I ever heard was,
Write because you love it.
If you wouldn’t write if you didn’t find success, then this is the wrong industry for you.
Write for the passion of creating.
What are you reading now?
Oh my… so many things. Right now my KU list is full! I always have something from Mariana Zapata in my library, and I have a few books from indie authors I’ve never heard of but their stories sound amazing.
(Don’t worry, I won’t forget to leave a review!)
What’s next for you as a writer?
Same as what’s next for every writer.
I’m going to keep writing!
I have a few projects that are still a work in progress at the moment, and I’m going to keep working until either my eyes fall out from computer monitor glare or my fingers freeze up with arthritis.
Hopefully that’s a long way away.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
-The Island by Gary Paulson
-The Jayson Wolfe Series by Anita Stanfield. I’m assuming you can get all the books rolled into one somewhere?
-The Highwayman Of Tanglewood by Marcia Lynn McClure
-Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin by Mariana Zapata
