Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an American born novelist residing in Australia. I have been an avid reader since I was a kid. I was the one reading under the covers with a light when I should have been asleep. I love the written word and delving into different worlds through books! I have ghostwritten ten books for others and now I felt it was high time to release mine. I write fantasy romance, mystery fiction, and romantic suspense. My debut novel is called CheckMate and I foresee this being a long-running series. I love plot twists and fast pace. I also appreciate witty dialogue in my books. So you will find a lot of that through my books. I also have a short back story coming up for my audience as well. Stay tuned! I am also a visual artist, so if I’m not writing I’m illustrating or creating something somewhere! I love travel, animals, and nature and you can find me with any of these three around me.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
CheckMate was inspired by a creative writing prompt at a writing class, and all of the detective TV shows I have absorbed over the years. Shows like Castle, Rizzoli and Isles, Marvel movies and Power. I procrastinated on it for a few years and then I got more serious about it in the last year. I’m so glad I did. I really enjoyed the writing process!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I wouldn’t say unusual pretty standard. Must have coffee. Lol! I do have something on in the background when I write normally. I write in sprints sometimes and typically I have a loose outline when I start.
I do have a lot of visuals when I start so I can create a mental image. When researching for CheckMate I went ‘virtual hiking’ through a New Jersey State Park.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Soooo many. Right now I’m reading Christine Feehan, Nora Roberts, Nalini Singh, Lindsay Hall and Toni Anderson.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on two! Book 2 of the Sara Clemens Mystery and a little 5,000-word freebie called Firebomb, which is the backstory of how my main characters met.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon – Currently my book is in Kindle Unlimited but I do plan on taking my books wider for distribution in the future.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Finish the book! Stop procrastinating.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Finish the book! Lol.
Also, to keep writing.
What are you reading now?
Earth Bound Christine Feehan just started.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Continuing on with my series and working on a fantasy romance collection
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Oooo that’s a tough one. I would bring The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle. A Nora Roberts Novel – any one. I would bring a world atlas and thick fantasy novel that would take awhile to get through
