Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a simple southern gal who has loved books since the age of three. I finally took the plunge and wrote my first book in 2016. I was both terrified and excited at the same time when I finished. Telling myself if I only ever wrote the one I would be content since I accomplished my dream of writing a book. However once I started writing I just couldn’t stop and now have several others in the works.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Bear in Mine which is part of the Grayslake: More than Mated Kindle World. I loved this series when it was first written by Celia Kyle and when I received an email saying that it had been turned into a Kindle World I knew then that it was time to take the plunge.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When naming my main characters I say their name over and over out loud. Since I write romance I want to ensure the names work in any setting. There is nothing worse than being in the throws of passion and the name being called out just kill the scene.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The list is so long but I must say that Jane Austen is the most inspiring classic author for me. While the more modern ones include Celia Kyle, T. S. Joyce, Abbie Zanders, Carrie Ann Ryan, Talina Perkins, and a handful of others.
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on Unbreakable Ties (O’Reilly Clan Book 1) which is a paranormal shifter romance and The City Girl Ropes a Lawman (Cooper Creek Book 1) which is a contemporary romance. I also have modern witch series that I am still developing. The ladies just aren’t talking to me that much right now not to mention a follow-up Grayslake More Than Mated book.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still new to all of the promotion stuff. So far I have had really great luck with Instagram and Twitter. I think the most important method is to take it one day at a time and make sure that you are promoting in some way each and every day.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just write everyday. As long as you are writing you are accomplishing your dream. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you aren’t an author. Even when you receive a bad review, take it with a grain of salt.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
When someone says they don’t like your book take a moment to cry then get angry. Get angry enough that you go out there and prove them wrong with your next best-selling book.
What are you reading now?
Put Out by Lani Lynn Vale
What’s next for you as a writer?
Up next for me is to get The City Girl Ropes a Lawman and Unbreakable Ties finished and published. Then work on the next five books I have lined up.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
3 or 4 would so not be enough for me. I would have to have at least one Lani Lynn Vale book. Any of her titles are a must read. Pride and Prejudice, A Tale of Two Cities are both others I would bring.
