Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born in Ohio, raised in New York and has been a gypsy most of my adult life. My various jobs, including licensed veterinary technician, caterer, horseback riding instructor for the disabled and advertising media buyer have given me a wealth of experiences.
However, it has been writing that has consistently been my passion. I sold an episode of a TV show, had a screenplay optioned and has so far produced eleven novels, including eight historical romances and three romantic suspense. I live in Florida with a fabulously supportive engineer husband and my writing buddy, Jakita, a terrier.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest is a re-release of “Texas Summer”. I’m not really sure what inspired it. But it’s hot.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I just put my bottom in the chair in front of the keyboard.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love so many authors, but the one that got me started in romance was Kathleen Woodiwiss. Her books are wonderful!
What are you working on now?
I am also finishing Book Two in the Morocco series, “Tied to Morocco”. This series was inspired by a trip to Escapeology, where they put you in a room and you have one hour to escape. Our scenario was a shanghai. So I thought – what if you were kidnapped and taken to Morocco to serve the sultan?
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Yours!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t quit! That’s the best advice ever.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
See above.
What are you reading now?
I am actually judging a contest, so I am reading books from seven authors.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I would love to do a book on Native Americans. A romance, of course.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“Ashes in the Wind” by Kathleen Woodiwiss
The Key series by Nora Roberts
“Salem’s Lot” by Stephen King
