Interview With Author Leslie Henderson
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Even though I have written three books and currently working on a fourth, I still consider myself a newbie writer.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
BLINDSIGHTED: The Stronger Will Survive is my latest novel. It is an adaption of my award-winning screenplay titled, BLINDSIGHTED. A love or art and storytelling is what inspired a former coworker and I to come together and bring this unusual crime drama to fruition.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
After checking out other authors writing habits, what I thought was unusual is part of the norm.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Too many to list because I’m all over the place with my literary selection, but the novel that had a lasting impression on my was Old Yeller.
What are you working on now?
I am working on supernatural drama currently.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I can’t say which site is best as I am still relatively new and experimenting with different genres so no one site has panned out to be the absolute best.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Take your time. Honest feedback is your most trusted resource. However, getting honest feedback will be a challenge. Please don’t rely on family and friends because they know how hard you have worked to bring your brainchild to existence so they may not want to hurt your feelings with a negative critiques. Go for the “red pen review” even if it hurts and then tweak your books with critiques that resonate with your inner voice.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never give up.

LOL…the most recent copy of Writer’s Digest so I can learn more about the world of publishing and indie publishing.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Writing the last book/screenplay in the Shelf Life trilogy.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
