About Lily’s Mountain Adventure
Dive into the Fun Adventures of “Midnight Magic”
Welcome to a young children’s illustrated book series where adventure and time travel ignite curiosity through discovery. The “Midnight Magic” series sees the spirited Lily and her lovable Australian animal friends exploring the world; seeing sights, meeting interesting characters as they go, and all the while gaining basic notions of different cultures, places, and some history. (Choose to elaborate and stimulate discussions about these adventures with your youngster’s piqued interest, by asking the parent questions at the end of the story).
After midnight, and with the help of Wombat Paul’s ‘diggiest’ claws, in this story: Lily’s Mountain Adventure, Lily and her friends tunnel their way to visit Japan, India, Tibet, and more, marveling at the mountains, places and cultures as they go.
Crafted with poetic playfulness, each story within the series is a testament to the joy of rhyme, offering both entertainment and a unique opportunity to enhance memory and learning. “Lily’s Mountain Adventure” is more than just a story; it’s an invitation to ignite the imagination of young minds, encouraging them to explore, dream, and discover.
I’m thrilled to share Lily’s world with you and your young explorers. Her adventures are designed to bring smiles, spark curiosity, and open hearts to the wonders of our world. With Lily, every night is a promise of new adventures waiting on the horizon. Look out for Lily’s next adventures in Italy, England, the USA and much more.

As a little one myself, I absolutely loved books, and as early as I can remember I began writing silly poems, ditties, and stories about animals and characters around me. My first lengthy rhyming story, ‘Hobo Smello the Mouse’ was terrible (but I was very proud of it!). I was 9!!.
I have enjoyed many years working with children both in childcare and in recreational gym play programs, and amongst my most treasured memories are when we were teaching nursery rhymes and songs with hand gestures and movement, and reading fun stories. There’s nothing so lovely as a child on your lap completely engrossed in a storybook, and the great delight as they respond, repeat, and ask for more.
The patterns of rhymes are wonderful for brain and memory development in young children, and a fun adventure story with a start, middle, and ending teaches sequencing as well. Add the whimsical opportunity to use voice variation, facial expressions, and silly sounds, and you have a great recipe for creating treasured moments.
I read to my own children every day until they could read themselves, and in doing so, I too lost myself in many a wonderful tale. These are some of my favorite memories.
In my pursuit of writing children’s books with the dual mission of entertaining and educating, I delight in infusing a touch of whimsical nonsense and lighthearted silliness. By doing so, I aim to bring joy to young readers and spark their curiosity and interest, creating opportunities for further exploration and discovery on a myriad of engaging topics.
I now live in Sydney Australia, where I have raised my beautiful grown son and daughter, and live with my husband Neil, and a cat called Tish, (who provides me with plenty of material!).
