Locust Hill: A Romantic Family Saga by Carl Parsons
Sharing the setting and some characters from my Country stories in Town and Country: Voices from the Mid-Ohio Valley, Locust Hill relates the struggles of a small acreage farm family in WV. Farm wife Cassandra Russell serves as the first person narrator of this realistic story that illustrates the persistence and character required to make a success of farming today, overcoming obstacles ranging from the collapse of the independent grocery market to environmental threats.
