Author Bio:
Karen West has traveled much of the US and lived in a variety of states, from Florida to Alaska, choosing, however, to raise her cherished family of four daughters and one son in the state of West Virginia, where she was born and raised. She has eleven, soon to be twelve, grandchildren whom she adores. Though currently single, she believes strongly in marriage and eternal families.
Earning her Associates of Arts and graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Regents Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia State College, her studies focused on music, creative writing, and a bit of theater. Envisioning stories at the age of seven, she relished any opportunity to write. Now she fills daily journals with memories, prayers, and spiritual directions. Ever dedicated to religious endeavors and serving God, Karen was called to many leadership and service positions in her church. Among others, these include being president or counselor for women’s and children’s organizations, teaching classes of adults or children, and directing choirs and choruses.
While living in Tennessee, Karen had her dream job of teaching music in a kindergarten¬through¬eighth grade school.
She told her students the first week that they should not expect to pull the wool over her eyes, for they couldn't think of any prank her 5 children had not already tried.
She enjoys expressing herself through music composition, by playing several musical instruments, through her writing, and she loves playing Scrabble with her granddaughter.
