Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Just like the character in my book, my experiences with spiritual beings started late in life. These experiences, and the love they introduced me to, took some getting used to.
Getting Used to Weird: A very different sort of Love Story is my first book, but certainly not the last. Look out for the next book, We Are One, which will be released in early 2020.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Getting Used to Weird: A very different sort of Love Story was inspired by experiences in my own life. These included conversations with angels and spirit guides, Jesus and God. These conversations were influenced by the books I read and the experiences I had.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I would say it is quite unusual to have conversations with spiritual beings before and whilst the writing is occurring. Even though not a lot of people do it, I am not special in this regard. It is something that anyone can learn to do.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been influenced by many spiritual authors and teachers. Neale Donald Walsch’s Conversations with God books have had the greatest influence on the books, but there have been many others who helped me get to where I am today: Doreen Virtue, Eckhart Tolle, Dr Wayne Dyer, Sonia Choquette, to name just a few.
What are you working on now?
I am currently editing We Are One, a book which carries on from Getting Used to Weird: A very different sort of Love Story. We Are One presents a positive view of humanity’s future, and looks at religions from God’s perspective.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
So far, my mailing list and Facebook page have been my main areas of promotion.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Not yet. I am one.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Lighten up!
What are you reading now?
Something light – a Christmas romance novel. There’s nothing like a good love story.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Breathe.
Finish editing We Are One.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Of course I would take my kindle, so I would always have a lot more than 3 or 4. However, if I had to only take 3 or 4 books, I would probably take my book, Getting Used to Weird: A very different sort of Love Story, because it provides all the tools for leading a happy life, even on a desert island. Also, Neale Donald Walsch’s Conversations with God, Book 1, and his Tomorrow’s God.
