Fighting addiction? Love someone fighting addiction? Drugs, alcohol or sexual addiction destroying their life?
This is a personal account of working through addiction to a place of recovery with my husband. Drugs and alcohol addiction has stolen many years from my husband’s life. When we met, I knew there was issues, but didn’t fully understand how deep these problems were until we had moved to Savannah Georgia together (prior to getting married). I quickly found out, when there was no escape route for either of us, how deeply seeded these habits were and how strong a hold they had upon his life.
The day came when it was do or die, give it up or we were done. We began our life of recovery together. This book offers practical, yet tough tools I implemented in helping my husband become free from life-long addiction. My goal in sharing these events in our lives is that you will find hope in knowing a life free of addiction does exist. A few tools included in the book providing quick, life saving tips:

Author Bio:
Donna Rollyson is a proud West Virginia native and currently resides in her husband’s hometown of Frametown. Although living in various locations throughout the United States, she always finds her way back to the mountains and streams of her home state.
Donna has never lacked for interest to occupy her time and efforts. For many years horses were her number one passion. During that time, she owned and operated a farm where she bred Andalusian / PRE horses. Her kids, gardening, pets and painting were a part of everyday life in one form or another.
A few years ago, while involved in further education, the creative writing classes became a particular interest. Believing there is a story to be told in most every situation, Donna began writing to express these moments in her day and situations around her that provided inspiration. From that moment stories develop with the smallest of daily observances. Having completed her first book about the struggles of addiction, “Love wins the Addiction Battle: Steps you can take TODAY to help a loved one through recovery”, Donna is now finishing her next book about God’s speaking into her heart and the very specific instructions to “Feed People”.
The ideas are flooding Donna’s heart and mind as she spends a great deal of time in study and working in the ministry. Meeting interesting people and telling their story is a future endeavor on the list of “things to do”.
With all the projects and demands of ministry life, Donna’s family is priority. Being her husband’s number one fan and supporter is her greatest goal. The good Lord blessed Donna to be near her parents and get share in their lives and as many family functions as can be arranged for a couple pushing towards their 80’s. Her parents, Don and Sue Armstrong have spent their lives in ministry in the Church of the Nazarene and continue to this very day working and serving in their local church. It’s Donna’s greatest pleasure to be a part of their lives in their senior years.
Donna operates a non-profit organization that provides a food pantry in Braxton County, West Virginia. The non-profit, Always Blessed Connections CO also provides recovery assistant for the many men and women who struggle with drug and alcohol addiction in their community. Their little church, Spruce Grove Community Church was led to open in 2020 under the direct guidance of the Lord. Today it’s home to a small congregation that support each other in studying and living out the Word of God. Donna’s husband, Ed Rollyson is pastor to the wonderful people at Spruce Grove Community Church. Ed’s genuine love extends beyond those attending the church to anyone who has need of pastoral friendship and care.
