Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Lynn Carmer is a talker, a writer, a reader, a teacher, a procrastinator, an avid fan of all things “reality,” and a devourer of all things “sweet.” She has lived on both coasts and everywhere in between. All the crazy characters that live inside her head have now broken free and are running amok. The result? Quite a few steamy and funny Paranormal, Sci Fi and Contemporary romance novels. She has dabbled in a few different genres. Think sexy gargoyles turned to stone; star-crossed lovers living on the planet of fire and ice; and hilarious contemporaries that reference pop culture and quite a few ’80s and ’90s movies and music.
Here’s to hunky heroes and hot-blooded heroines!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called Fervor: The Fervor Chronicles Book 1. It is an interesting combination of Paranormal and Sci Fi Romance. I was inspired by the planet Mercury. Back in the day, scientists surmised one side of the planet always faced the sun, the other the cold yawn of space. When a teacher suggested a strip down the middle might sustain life – bam! – Fervor was born. My characters live and love on the planet of Fire and Ice.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, probably. But it’s all relative , right? LOL! I say tomato and you say to-mah-to …
What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are so many! So many favorites. I love Christine Feehan, the OG vampire romance author. Nalini Singh, Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter are all Paranormal Romance favorites. For Contemporary I love Lori Foster, Suzanne Brockmann and more …
What are you working on now?
I am working on another Paranormal Romance. This one takes place here on earth. Antares has been sealed in stone until Irisa finds a hidden cave and frees him from years of entrapment. He is Gargoyle. She is Mooncaller.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Social Media is crucial. Ereaderdaily.com has been amazing and I am sure my experiences with Awesomegang.com will be just as incredible.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, write, write! Vomit it out. Don’t overthink the first draft. It’s supposed to be a steaming pile of …well, you supply whatever word you are comfortable with. 🙂 The magic comes in the edits! I promise.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
See post above.
What are you reading now?
I am reading Dark Ghost by Christine Feehan.
What’s next for you as a writer?
World domination …one book at a time! 🙂
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
There are just too many to choose from. I can’t pick only 4!
