Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am almost 26 year old guy from Serbia. I can’t imagine my life without my family and friends, nature, music and of course books. I can say that I am observer and actually that made me a writer in the past. A lot of bad and unpleasant things have happened and my little fortress where I was hiding was writing and reading books. I felt safe there. By time I grew strong within those walls and after some time it was the right moment to leave it and share my words to the world.
Cause of that I love remarkable books that were product of pain. They always teach us some lessons so we don’t make them on our own. It isn’t said in vain that the strongest weapon one could have are words. It is up to us to use them carefully for better days that are in front of us.
At the moment I have two published books, both collection of poetry.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Name of my latest book is “Carnival of Rust”. As I have mentioned above, it is a collection of poetry. When I have started thinking about it I wanted it to be different from my first book “Moment of Truth”. I wanted it to be product of happy feelings, good qualities people could have, joyful events, but when I started writing it it was just the opposite of it.
Day after day one after the other bad things were happening in my life bringing me to the very bottom of the hell. Pain, sorrow, anger were the main feelings I had when I was writing it.
As the book was coming to an end, so were my problems and I felt relief again. I felt that I have completed one chapter of my life that I want to share with the world and tell them that even in darkest nights there is always some light to guide us toward our better and happier future.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I am not sure to be honest. Personally, I find it unusual to open my notebook or Word document and just stare at it for hours thinking about what I want to write. I am visual type of person so if I don’t see it happening like I am watching the movie, I will not write that no matter how good I may think that is at that moment.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
There is one book and one poem that had great influence on me in the past. Book is Tolkien’s “Silmarillion”. My first run-and-hide fortress was in world of this book. Guess that has flamed a lot my imagination and thirst for new and exciting things. Poem is Rudyard Kipling’s “If”. When I first time read it I have fallen in love with it at once. It says about how one should behave and how have all those best qualities one person could ever carry within oneself.
What are you working on now?
Currently, I am working on three separated projects. I will explain each one of them in the list below.
1. “Devil who loved”
This is my autobiography. Unlikely majority of this book genre, I have to admit that I don’t have needed courage to write word to word as it really has happened. Instead, I am writing in symbol and in my unique dark style. it may be hard to read cause of the word choice, but so far anyone who has seen it said that I have to finish it, no matter if that was said by younger or older person.
2. “Abyss of the moment”
This is first book in “Interior design of the brain” series of books that was inspired by events in my life as well as events from lives of people who surround me. The book is about group of young people who live on New Zealand and how they travel trough life facing various victories and losses on that path.
3. “The Smile of a Moon’s Child”
This will be my third collection of poetry and finally inspired by great feelings and events. It will be written in style I have used for previous two, tho not dark as before.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
In the end I started believing that the best method, beside book promotions on other Author’s blogs and Author interviews, is to talk to people, listen to them. Being a writer is not easy job. Journey for creating and publishing one book can be very long and bumpy. Once our book is out there, we need readers and we do depend on their opinions of our work. So, it is the best to talk to them, make them feel that they are important, cause that is true. We are nothing without them, just another person who wrote something down.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
As I have said in answer on the first question above, being a writer isn’t easy. Saying this, no matter how your hard, lonely or abandoned you may feel on this path, never give up. Always try to improve yourself, not only as a writer but as a person as well. That is something that your future readers will cherish. If they do acknowledge you, they will talk about you and your work which will bring you new readers. Just never stop that improvement.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Well, it is funny cause it is not advice but a quote from one animated movie called “Finding Nemo” when one fish says “Keep swimming, just keep swimming”. I think that I don’t have to explain this one very much, it is clear to all of us what script writers wanted to tell us.
What are you reading now?
Currently I am re-reading “Wheel of Time”, a epic fantasy book series by Robert Jordan. It has a lot of big books so it may take some time to finish it.
What’s next for you as a writer?
All I ever wanted to do as a writer is to pass on my words to others, so I will continue with that goal I have set to myself.
What is your favorite book of all time?
I have already mentioned Tolkien’s “Silmarillion”, so I will stand by that choice. Even if you are not a fantasy lover it is must-read book. Such a great world crated in period after WW2 is very remarkable. I have to say that that book is not just yet-another-fantasy-world but much more if you dig a bit deeper.
