Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an eleventh-grade high school dropout. I even failed high school English class. But I have written two books and working on a third one about “True Self-confidence, Sel-esteem, and self-efficacy” right now. I was an op-ed columnist for the Dallas Morning News for a couple of years. I have written more articles for other people’s books, newspapers, magazines, and online than I can even remember. I have accomplished more feats in my life than most people will ever achieve covering a wide range of topics. I am the classic overachiever.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The book that I am currently working on does not have an official title as of yet. It is still in production. I was goaded into doing it by my copy-editor, and now I am glad he did. I will be trying to help people to know how to increase their levels of self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. These are such incredibly important topics for anyone to become a truly successful adult that it needed a book dedicated to just those subjects.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know that it is unusual. But I write exactly the way I talk. I have had it described when you are reading anything that I have written as feeling like I am sitting across the breakfast table talking to you in person. It is a very conversational style. I do not try to be grandiloquent with my writing.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
What are you working on now?
As I said above, I am working on a book about self-confidence. I am also working on a series of children’s books. Each book will be written with a dual purpose. 1) To teach the reader something about a country that they are not familiar with. 2) To teach the reader some type of trait-like quality. Such as: courtesy, manners, respect, responsibility, and on and on.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My best method is sheer and total persistence. I never give up. I am always looking for new opportunities to showcase my books. This could be on-line or at a book signing at a local bookstore or at a PTO or PTA meeting or in front of a group of parents.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
“PERSISTENCE”. If you believe in yourself then don’t let anyone dissuade you from moving forward.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
It was something that Winston Churchill said when I was at a boy’s school on October 29, 1941. ( Ok , so I wasn’t there. But it sounded good at the time) He said, “Never, never, never, never Give up.” I DON”T!
What are you reading now?
I’m not much of a reader of other people’s works.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To continue to expand my business and provide the highest level of content that I can.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Nothing come to mind immediately
