Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I spent 25 years doing IT before deciding to pursue a writing career. I got into IT due to a passion for technology, but time caused that same passion to fade. Life is too short to do something you don’t enjoy. Writing has rekindled that spark for me and I’m loving every moment of this new adventure. Also being in a career where I can have conversations with imaginary characters and not be committed is a big plus. I currently have two books, A Bounty with Strings and A Bounty of Evil published.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is A Personal Bounty (Dec. 2019 release). The Bounty series is a mix of Urban Fantasy and Superhero Fantasy. The first two books I wrote leaned much harder to the Urban Fantasy side whereas this book is more Superhero Fantasy. Exploring the Superhero side of my world was my main motivation for this book.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I recently got a kitten, who is a lap fiend but tends to fall off if not supported, so I’m getting really good at typing one handed.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Jim Butcher, Simon Hawke, Laurell K. Hamilton, Lee Child, David Weber, Jennifer Estep, Larry Correia, Vince Flynn and probably a dozen or so more than I’m forgetting to mention.
What are you working on now?
The first draft for book six of the Bounty series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon Marketing Services and Facebook.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t keep re-writing the first chapter or two — keep going until you finish the book.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.
What are you reading now?
Druid’s Due by MD Massey
What’s next for you as a writer?
Fame, fortune and a world tour… or more likely getting dinner on before my wife gets home from work ๐
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Game of Thrones, Monster Hunter International, the SAS Survival Handbook and Raft building for Dummies.
