Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an author and illustrator @ QuickTurtle Books®. I have written or illustrated more than 20 books. My last book, The Best of Me from a to z, Traits and Virtues for Kids, has been nominated for the Readers Choice Awards. It was illustrated by the very talented Sara Murtas from Italy.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Kenaf, Seeds For Life, is my latest book. It was inspired by a partnership with Kenaf Partners USA to create a children’s book to help educate a new generation on the environmentally friendly Kenaf plant. It was a #1 New Release on Amazon this month.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Writing is often a middle of the night adventure.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am a voracious reader. But I am mostly influenced by our great philosophers and prophets.
What are you working on now?
Currently I am illustrating a book about bees written by my author-husband Richard Rensberry. We are founders and authors at QuickTurtle Books®.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Live events. Meeting people is by far the most successful form of promotion. I was recently featured on a TV program as an illustrator and author; we’ll see what sort of an impact that may create.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t get discouraged. Writing and publishing is a process.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Be positive and positive things will come your way.
What are you reading now?
Missouri Gateways. I am a sponge for romance.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am considering an autobiographical novel. I also have several books to illustrate in 2019. I am looking for more partnerships like the one our company created with Kenaf Partners USA. It is a QuickTurtle Books® new venture called New World Advertising.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Wilderness Survival. A cookbook on fish and native plants. The Bible. An Anthology of Romance Stories.
