About Mask of Fury
A Sheriff Little Ray Briggs Crime Mystery Novel
Retired Sheriff Little Ray Briggs is ready to live a quiet life after putting in his time first as a homicide detective and then as Sheriff in his tiny desert hometown. The only excitement he wants and the only excitement he needs is dealing with the logistics of putting together his daughter’s wedding. What he wants becomes irrelevant when his best friend, the current sheriff, calls him with devastating news about his daughter’s fiancé.
“Ray, I didn’t arrest him. He’s dead, and there’s a Ka-Bar in his throat all the way to the hilt.”
Trying to juggle his bitter ex-wife, his childhood sweetheart, and his inexperienced best friend is bad enough under the best of circumstances. Now, with a desolate daughter begging for resolution and an increasingly convoluted trail, Little Ray finds himself pulled back into the chaos and darkness he wants to leave behind.
And he can’t decide if he wants justice or retribution if he wants resolution or revenge.
