Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am the author of the international thriller ‘The Second List’. As it is very positively reviewed, I am currently working on a second Patrick Rooper thriller.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Steven Spielberg once said that he makes the movies he wanted to see. I am writing the books I want to read. ‘The Second List’ was inspired mostly by my own interests, my own ideas of excitement.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
As my attention span is limited, I write in short, intense spurts, letting the story develop in my mind first.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
As a visually driven person, I am more influenced by movies and directors than authors and books: Godard, Fellini, Lang, Leone, Bergman, Kurosawa, Kubrick, Hitchcock, to name a few.
BUT, the book that influenced me most was a very disappointing thriller. It was so terrible, I knew I could do better. ‘The Second List’ started as a project to prove myself right.
What are you working on now?
I am currently writing a short story around one of the characters in ‘The Second List’, while another Patrick Rooper thriller is developing.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Unfortunately, to figure that one out is still a work in progress.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just start writing. To see where this journey takes you is as exciting as the story itself.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You have one life, find your talents and follow your dream.
What are you reading now?
Writing, unfortunately, leaves very little time for reading currently.
What’s next for you as a writer?
As long as the stories are developing in my mind, I will keep going, inking the next Patrick Rooper thrillers.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
‘How to survive on a deserted island’, ‘How to build a raft with things you find on a deserted island’, ‘How to find your way home from a deserted island’, ‘Why you should or should not try to leave a deserted island’.
I am sure these books have yet to be written.
