Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a 70-year-old survivor of child abuse, and I had my first book published in January 2018.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My first book is entitled “Pieces: Help for Your Life Journey.” I want this book to be of help to other child abuse survivors who are looking for ways out of the darkness and oppression of past traumas.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know if it’s unusual or not, but I wrote about half the contents of the book over 10 years ago, but finally decided to turn it into a book late in 2017.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Louise Hay (a child abuse survivor)
What are you working on now?
I am planning a “Living a Joyous Life Workshop” Tour, starting in the Pacific Northwest in the Fall of 2018. The two-hour workshop is for anyone who is stuck living the same day over and over, or feels that they don’t deserve a better life than the one they have now. I use a multi-media approach to uplift people, and let them see themselves as lovable, capable of being happy, and Living a Joyous Life of their own making.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My website is www.megan-erin-galloway.com
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If a book is too intimidating, start by journaling – on any topic. Get the flow of words going, play with words and phrases, and express yourself freely. Not all of the journaling will turn into a book, but you are letting your voice shout out. Soon, your journaling may result in sequential thoughts that beg to be written as a blog and/or published as a book. Every person is unique and each of us has a story to share with others. You will find your story, eager to be expressed.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t give up HOPE!
What are you reading now?
I like the works of Esther Hicks and Abraham-Hicks, and read their books and articles, and listen to their YouTube videos.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I believe that a second book will come out of the “Living a Joyous Life Workshop” Tour.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Oxford English Dictionary (20-volume set, but only 1 book)
