Author Bio:
Joseph L. Licari is the award-winning author of “Mia’s Mouses,” a heartwarming children’s story that introduces young readers to plural nouns through the adventures of a young girl and her mice friends. With a deep commitment to coaching and mentoring, Joe is also a music instructor at Guitar Center, where he teaches guitar and piano to students of all ages. There, he inspires children to learn in fun and engaging ways — a quality that shines through in his writing. Joe brings stories to life through dynamic author visits and interactive reading workshops at schools and libraries, inspiring a love for reading and learning in young audiences. Joe’s debut book, Mia’s Mouses, was awarded the 2024 Pencraft 1st Place Book Award for Children in the K-3rd Genre. Joe holds an MBA from Hofstra University and a B.S. from Stony Brook University, along with several certificates in Creative Writing. He is an active member of the Smithtown Library Writing Group, Long Island Children’s Writers and Illustrators (LICWI), the Long Island Authors Group, and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). When not immersed in writing or teaching, Joe enjoys spending quality time with his family, playing golf, staying active, and contributing to his local church and community.
