My Bio:
As a bi-racial woman growing up without a father, Michelle Perry struggled with identity and self-worth issues. Poor choices led her down a path leading to academic failure and a lack of purpose. Until January 2, 1992, when one experience changed her life forever, propelling her into purpose and service to others.
Michelle established herself as a subject matter expert over the course of her career as a clinical social worker that spanned over 20 years. She then transitioned into the corporate world where her leadership and coaching skills were refined, producing results in all that she works with. As an Empowerment Coach, podcast host, speaker, and online course creator, Michelle contributes to the journey of others by supporting them to see results and experience an increase in confidence and momentum in their lives.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Pebble in My Shoe: Live in the Power of Attention, Take Back Your Power & Live in a Better Way is my book and was inspired by the day/event that changed my life forever back in January 2, 1992. That day began my journey into purpose and so many life lessons that need to be shared.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tend to write super late at night while half of the world is asleep. The quiet brings focus and I need silence to access the deep well within.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Authors who have influenced me are many, but to name a few: Napoleon Hill, John Maxwell, Tony Robbins, Shel Silverstein, Maya Angelou and so many more.
Two books that have influenced me, and that I read again and again, are As A Man Thinketh by James Allen and Hinds Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard.
What are you working on now?
The audiobook version of my book and an online conference.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Best method for promoting my books is ME! My excitement and sharing with my network as well as scheduling promotions (free and paid) help to spread the word.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Advice for new authors is to move through the fear and doubts and do it!
Practically speaking a few things that got me to actually write and publish my book:
1. Begin!
2. Schedule time, even if only 10 min a day, to write
3. Support: join online groups, sign up for a challenge, take a course, get a mentor. Not doing this alone was the PRIMARY thing that got me over the finish line.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Keep Walking.
What are you reading now?
My Book! I am also finishing up a few books from the online group that I joined with newly published authors… another reason to get support is a built in additional network to promote your book to!
What’s next for you as a writer?
Next I will be recording and promoting my audiobook and then on to book #2!
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
