Interview With Author Mohamed Ghoneim
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
“I am an Egyptian doctor with a master’s degree in obstetrics and gynecology, always striving to explore and understand human emotions through words that come to life. Over the years, I have written several literary works in Arabic that have been well-received by readers in Egypt and the Arab world. Today, I have joined the Amazon platform to expand the reach of my works, offering books translated into various foreign languages such as English, Spanish, French, and Brazilian Portuguese. My writings range from romantic fantasy to motivational content, and books that address human issues, with the aim of leaving a profound impact on the hearts of my readers worldwide.”
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Stations in your life: 366 stations you won’t simply pass through — they’ll tear your masks off, return you to your lost self, and raise you from the rubble, burning and reborn
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I often begin writing in complete silence, sometimes at night when the world is asleep — not just to hear my thoughts, but to hear what my soul has to say. I don’t outline like most writers. I chase emotion, not structure. I let the first line slap me, and the rest bleed naturally.
Sometimes, I write standing up. Other times, I walk around the room, whispering lines before I ever type them. And I always keep one thing close: an image, a memory, or a line that once saved me — to remind me why I write at all.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve been influenced less by names… and more by voices.
Voices that didn’t whisper — but roared.
Yes, I’ve walked through the pages of Kahlil Gibran, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Paulo Coelho. Their words didn’t just speak — they called. But more than any author, I was shaped by moments when I was broken… and only a sentence could hold me together.
Books like The Prophet, Letters to a Young Poet, and The Alchemist cracked something open in me — not because they were perfect, but because they dared to speak the truth no one else would.
But the greatest influence?
The silence between books…
Where I had to write my own.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on the echo of my first book —
a second volume that doesn’t just continue the journey… it erupts from it.
While my debut — (Stations) — was about reclaiming the voice within,
this next work dives even deeper… into the rebirth that follows the fire.
Not just transformation, but transcendence.
I’m also reimagining one of my earlier books about women — giving it new wings, a louder heartbeat, and the unapologetic strength it always deserved.
Because a woman’s awakening is not a whisper… it’s a revolution.
And honestly?
I’m always writing.
Even when I’m silent, the fire is still burning on the page.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
So far, nothing beats authentic human connection.
I believe in organic reach — real readers finding real words that set them on fire.
Social media helps, yes.
But I’ve seen the strongest impact when I talk directly to readers — through groups, communities, and platforms like Goodreads, Reddit, and targeted Facebook groups.
Not selling — sharing.
Not shouting — sparking curiosity.
And sites like Awesome Gang, Pretty-Hot.com, and Book Goodies allow my book to breathe beyond the algorithm — to find readers who are hungry for something raw, defiant, and soul-deep.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes.
Don’t write to impress. Write to ignite.
The world doesn’t need more polished, empty books. It needs truth-tellers… storm-makers… soul-bleeders.
Write as if no one is watching.
Then revise as if the whole world is listening.
Forget the market. Forget the trends. Forget approval.
What matters is:
👉 Did your words make your own heart tremble?
👉 Did you write something that — had you read it years ago — would have changed your life
That’s your compass.
And one more thing:
Your fear means you’re doing something real.
Keep going. Keep burning.
There’s someone out there waiting for exactly what only you can say.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I ever heard?
“Don’t wait for permission to be who you already are deep inside.”
We waste years waiting for the world to validate us — when all along, our soul was just asking us to be brave enough to listen.
What are you reading now?
The Mountain Is You
What’s next for you as a writer?
The journey doesn’t end with one book — it evolves.
After writing “The Stations”, something inside me shifted. I no longer write just to express…
I write to ignite.
To start fires in the cold hearts of those who forgot who they were.
What’s next?
A second volume — deeper, louder, and more unapologetically human.
A revolution in pages.
A mirror held to every soul who dares to read.
This is no longer about motivation…
It’s about liberation.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor E. Frankl – because when survival becomes a question of meaning, this book is a compass for the human spirit.
“Women Who Run with the Wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estés – a treasure trove of wild feminine archetypes and inner healing.
And finally… my own book: The Stations – not from ego, but because I wrote it for moments exactly like this: when you’re alone, questioning, and in need of rebirth. I’d like to reread it not as the writer… but as a soul in need of its fire
