Interview With Author Monica Broussard
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I published 21 Tattoos in October 2023. The second book, The 7th Dimension, will be out on September 18th, 2024. Book three in the Tattoo series is due out in September 2025.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The 7th Dimension is the second book in the The Tattoo Series. When I wrote 21 Tattoos I had so much information to share I knew I had to put it in a second book. Which has now ultimately led me to write the third book.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I wake up at 4:30 a.m. every morning to write while my brain is still in the initial stage of sleep. This stage typically lasts around 20 minutes after waking up and is often referred to as the entrance to the unconscious mind. During this period, my subconscious is highly active, presenting a prime opportunity to train my brain for positive thinking and increased productivity throughout the day.

C.S. Lewis and L. Frank Baum
What are you working on now?
The third book in The Tattoo Series. It does not have a title yet.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, Write, and Write some more as you hone your craft.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
As an Author it would be: “Focus on your writing.”
What are you reading now?
I just finished Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis- a 2016 memoir by JD Vance about the Appalachian values of his family from Kentucky and the socioeconomic problems of his hometown of Middletown, Ohio, where his mother’s parents moved when they were young.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Finish The Tattoo Series and publish book three.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, War and Peace, Les Miserables.
