Interview With Author Moody Khan
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Moodykhan — a practical dreamer, creative rebel, and passive-income explorer. I don’t believe in working harder; I believe in working smarter, lazier, and more creatively. So far, I’ve written 12+ books ranging from productivity, mindset, and digital income to fiction and emotional self-reflection. I write for those who are tired of the system, hate alarms, and want a life designed on their own terms.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Absolutely. I write at night, in complete silence, and usually with no plan. I start with a sentence that slaps — and let the rest follow like a conversation with my own chaos. I often talk to myself while writing like I’m recording a podcast.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Absolutely. I write at night, in complete silence, and usually with no plan. I start with a sentence that slaps — and let the rest follow like a conversation with my own chaos. I often talk to myself while writing like I’m recording a podcast.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Books by Mark Manson, Tim Ferriss, and Robert Greene have shaped how I think. Also, anime like Death Note and Attack on Titan taught me more about human nature than half of the self-help section.
What are you working on now?
Currently finishing a bold and emotional title called “Talk That Hits Deep” — it’s part poetry, part truth bombs, part emotional detox. It’s raw, real, and meant for people going through silent storms.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Besides Amazon and Goodreads, I’ve had solid traction through Awesome Gang, Fussy Librarian, and BookBub. I also use social media reels, Reddit, and my email list for real, raw marketing.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t write to impress. Write to expose — your truth, your pain, your edge. Perfection is a trap. Hit “publish” even when you’re scared. Especially when you’re scared.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If it scares you and excites you at the same time — do it.”
Also: “You’ll never feel fully ready. Create anyway.”
What are you reading now?
“Rework” by Jason Fried — again. Because I believe in anti-hustle entrepreneurship.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Turning some of my books into short-form video content, audiobooks, and maybe an online community. I want to make books feel alive — not just pages, but real experiences.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck* – Mark Manson
Lazy But Smart: Passive Income for Smart Slackers Who Hate Alarms – by me, Moodykhan
(Because if I’m stuck somewhere, I better be making money while I wait to be rescued.)
Rich Dad Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki
One Piece Manga Collection (if allowed 😄)
