Interview With Author MR KUMAR
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Deepak Kumar, and I’m a passionate storyteller who loves blending romance, mystery, and supernatural elements into haunting, unforgettable tales. As of now, I’ve written two books: She Married Me After I Died and The Black Thread: Secrets of the Sacred Code.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is She Married Me After I Died. It was inspired by my fascination with how love and fate can transcend even death. I wanted to explore a story where rituals, emotions, and the supernatural collide in a way that feels both gothic and deeply romantic.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I often write in complete silence late at night, when the world feels still and mysterious. Sometimes, I imagine my stories as if they were playing out on a cinema screen—that helps me build strong, vivid scenes.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve been inspired by Colleen Hoover’s emotional intensity, Stephen King’s ability to create atmosphere, and classic gothic authors who bring haunting settings to life.
What are you working on now?
Right now, I’m promoting She Married Me After I Died while also preparing my second book, The Black Thread: Secrets of the Sacred Code, for readers. It’s another dark and mysterious journey that I’m excited to share soon.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve found social media communities like Facebook reader groups, Goodreads, and book promotion platforms like BookBub, Book Cave, and Awesome Gang to be great ways to reach passionate readers.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t wait for the “perfect moment” to write or publish—just start. Every book you create is a step toward finding your voice and your audience.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Write the book you would want to read.” It reminds me to stay true to my passion instead of chasing trends.
What are you reading now?
Currently, I’m exploring gothic thrillers and romance novels for inspiration. I believe reading widely helps me grow as a writer.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I plan to keep building my series of dark romantic thrillers and eventually branch into fantasy romance. My ultimate goal is to deliver stories that could be adapted for the big screen.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d take It by Stephen King, Verity by Colleen Hoover, Dracula by Bram Stoker, and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. Each has a mix of mystery, darkness, and emotional intensity that I’d never get tired of.
