An innocuous death in a prestigious retirement home had caught the attention of the Commissioner. In itself, the death was not an unusual occurrence, but it was accompanied by a couple of thefts. This concerned the Commissioner, as his mother was a resident in the very retirement home!
The Commissioner decided to allow his best homicide team to solve the crimes and determine whether or not the death occurred under suspicious circumstances.
Mario Simpson and his team were skeptical, as Pete Cannatelli, Mario’s number two, pointed out that deaths and thefts occur in retirement homes all the time, this was a lost cause. Indeed, initial investigations at the home made a difficult situation even more impossible and Mario was on the verge of reporting to the Commissioner that there was no evidence to support a suspicious death.
However, members of Mario’s team were determined to pursue the investigation and prove that the death was not due to natural causes and was in fact a pre-meditated murder.
