A Coat of Many Colors is an anthology of five plays with Jewish characters taken from real life. These include Harry Houdini as he tries to prove that a wealthy Boston medium is a fraud and the last queen of Tahiti who wants to write her autobiography and leave out her Jewish father. Shylock makes an appearance as well. Of late negative Jewish stereotypes have appeared in a variety of places. The Jewish characters in these plays show that there is no stereotype.
