About The Osiris Experiment: Part I by Kelvin Dyer
The planet Osiris: A terraforming project that the Earth forgot.
But now, while the Earth itself is almost forgotten, Osiris is still a planet under construction. A paradise for natural scientists, its occupants study the progress of the planet and its limited biosphere from within a rigid social structure, with few outsiders allowed to visit. With all their scientific advances, the people live unnaturally long lives; free from disease, free from war, and from all the other afflictions experienced by humanity through the ages. But something isn’t right…
At research station North Four – a small scientific outpost in the middle of a rain-soaked equatorial jungle – teenagers James and Daniel enjoy an idyllic life outdoors, climbing and swimming with their friends while learning about their young planet. But when a mysterious man is pulled from a nearby river, riddled with bullet-holes, the boys’ fathers – the doctors at the station – are not the only ones trying to find out what happened.
As they find themselves drawn unknowingly into the clutches of a planet-wide conspiracy, the boys find their skills, loyalties and bravery put to the test, in a series of events that leads them across their own planet and beyond.
The Osiris Experiment is an adventure novel set in a future where amazing technology exists, but people are still people. It explores themes of youth, age and memory; family and friendship; and the obsession that visits those who wield too much power.
