Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Controversial novelist Nicholas Black is the author of several fiction and non-fiction works.
As a security consultant in Mexico, Central America, Spain, France, and Northern Africa, he also served in the coveted French Foreign Legion while he was on the run from the Federal Government for refusing to cooperate with a murder investigation.
At one time, Mr. Black was alleged by the US Federal Government to be an “arms trafficker,” as well as a member of a group of men who, “…carried out contract killings.” There are many far-fetched and fancy rumors surrounding Mr. Black’s past.
He now trains and fights in Mixed-Martial Arts. As an expert in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and other combative tactics, he trains both professional fighters, security teams, and law enforcement in the art of armed and unarmed combat/unconventional warfare.
Whenever he isn’t throwing punches, he’s probably working on his next novel.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My Latest book is “How My Gay Uncle F’ed Up Christmas” and it was inspired by my friend Heath, who told us the most incredibly fantastic story about his family, and that inspired the book!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write at odd hours, no real pattern. I only write when I feel like getting a chapter knocked out. And then it’s fun, and doesn’t feel like work.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love Dean Koontz, Harlan Coban, Stephen King, of course:)
What are you working on now?
We are working on the Pilot for “See Jack Die” and for “Chasing Darkness,” by Jill Falter. Our next project is the Pilot for the TV series of “How My Gay Uncle F’ed Up Christmas.”
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still looking for that one. Free promotion sites are nice, but they don’t move the needle for books sales, for the most part. It’s just about exposure.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Read “How to Write a Novel in 30 Days or Less” it will save your life!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t play leap-frog with a unicorn.
What are you reading now?
Texts mostly, and some rude emails from my ex-girlfriend.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Converting the “See Jack Die” series to Television.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Fight Club!
