Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m from the UK, where I live with my husband and two boys. In addition to writing, I have a passion for photography and can often be found messing around in Photoshop with covers and teasers!
I’ve written one novella and two full-length books in a paranormal romance series, which is due to release soon. I’m currently working on book three and planning a few others.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Taste the Dark is my latest book, which releases on 30th April. It’s book one in a paranormal romance/ urban fantasy series. I first started thinking about this book 8 years ago! It was inspired by Twilight, and later by the Vampire Diaries. I’ve always loved vampires. After reading Twilight, I was left wanting more. More vampires, and more adult content. Taste the Dark was born!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nothing unusual – only the annoying one, where my best ideas come to me at the most inconvenient times! Usually when I’m in the shower or trying to go to sleep. Then I’m scrambling around trying to write them down before I forget.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Too many to list! Twilight must get a mention because it was the series that kicked me into starting my own vampire romance books. More recently I’ve been inspired by Sarah J Maas, I love her fantasy books and I’m now planning my own.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on book three in my Elwood Legacy series. I’m also plotting a fantasy trilogy, an urban fantasy/dystopia trilogy, and a couple of novellas… so, quite a lot!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still fairly new to this, I haven’t used many promotion services. I’ve found Instagram to be the best social media platform for connecting with readers.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just keep writing! Don’t get hung up on the details, and worrying about it not being good enough. Write. Write. Write. You can’t edit a blank page, but you can edit all those pages that you spewed out without stopping to worry. That’s when the magic will happen – new plot ideas will come to you, things will fall into place, and you can make it shine.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
See above!! And basically, just don’t stress. Life’s too short for worry. Everything will work out.
What are you reading now?
I’m reading Waterfall Effect by KK Allen, and really enjoying it.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Hopefully getting my name out there and gathering a bunch of happy readers!
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
