Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a busy, working mother with 3 beautiful children and a husband. At one point, I struggled to take care of myself. As a result, I was exhausted and overwhelmed. One day, I read a non-fiction book on publishing books and was hooked.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My newest book is The Busy, Working Mother’s Guide to Living a Meaningful Life: Living a Life of Passion – Tips for the Overwhelmed and Exhausted. This book is based upon discovering my passion for writing and publishing. I gain tremendous energy from doing something that fulfills and satisfies me.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write on paper and then type at night during my down time with the kids. I write any time I’m waiting!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve read hundreds of books about publishing, writing, self-help, and even more romance novels! I read them all. Probably for publishing, my biggest influences are Joanna Penn, Nick Stephenson, and Matt Stone.
What are you working on now?
Right now, I’m finishing up the next two books in the Living a Meaningful Life Series – Living a Life of Purpose and Living a Life of Gratitude.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Awesome gang has been a great source of downloads for my books in the past.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
My advice is to write and write some more. If you like non-fiction, pick a topic that you know inside and out and come up with 12 or 14 topics. Then, each day, write one of those topics out and compile them into a small e-book. It is so easy!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write something that you are passionate about and you will never become discouraged or bored.
What are you reading now?
Right now, I’m studying neurolinguistics programming. It has changed my life!
What’s next for you as a writer?
As a writer, I plan to continue to write small e-books every month. However, in the future, I plan to pull out some of my old romance manuscripts and get them ready for publishing.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would bring pen and paper and write! However, the books I would read would be on NLP, romance, and the Bible.
