What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“My Own Fairytale” is the latest short story featured in the Anthology -“From the Closet of the Heart”. It’s a book about real-life stories of love, gratitude, remembrance, and the apologies. Stories that are so relatable that you would want to hug the book close to your heart.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I find my muse in the darkest hours of the night, I wake up in the middle of the night with an urge to write down my dreams.
If I sit religiously to write, I am hardly able to write a word and end up staring at the wall for hours. It is my flaw as a writer, but I feel it comes naturally to me or not at all. I have been blogging since five years, I write about things that matter to me and I have been successful in raising voice against social issues in my own little way.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am a die hard fan of Bronte Sisters. My favourite books include- Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Plath, John Keats, Paulo Coehlo and Robin Sharma have influenced my life to a great extent through their writings.
” Waiting for Godot” is another book that changed me as a person.
What are you working on now?
I am working on my stand alone novel, Timeless which is a journey into the parallel world, multiple realities and time travel. It might take few more months, but it is my dream to put it out into the world.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I promote my books on the websites like Goodreads, Reader’s Digest, Bookbub and Robin reads but
Unbiased reviews through bloggers can be very useful.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Writing is a very weird profession, you are your own hero and nobody much can help you but yourself but the good news is that there’s always someone who needs to hear what you know already, say it, write it, they need it.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
It was not an advice but an email from a stranger who has been reading my blog, he confessed that reading me helped him overcome depression when he was having suicidal thoughts. I was taken aback, I realised that there are a lot of people who are reading me without ever leaving a comment or a word of appreciation, but as silent spectators, my words have made an impact on many lives and since that day, I started to feel responsible for my readers.
What are you reading now?
” The Zahir” by Paulo Coehlo and biography of Coco Chanel
What’s next for you as a writer?
I do not plan my life, it never went as per the plan, I go with the flow wherever it takes me.
