About Nobody’s Daughter by Antoinette McCormick
One week. One shot. Kill a madman, or lose everything.
In plague-ravaged Hokkaido, bounty hunter Renata Darkfell survives by slaying kufugaki—grotesque mutants born from the nokuru virus. Every hunt courts death, but her latest job is a death sentence. After a rogue mission fails, she’s captured inside a fortified holodome by the regime she’s dodged for years. Its ruthless leader, Doctor General Mazawa, offers a deal: kill Dr. Yomichi, the scientist behind the nokuru virus, and retrieve its genome sequence.
The terms? Seven days, no backup, and a nokuru-laced micro-bomb in her neck to ensure compliance. Failure will cost her life—and everyone she loves.
Venturing into Yomichi’s Aokigahara lair, the line between hunter and hunted blurs, as Renata uncovers secrets that unravel her mission, her past, and the truth about the virus that shattered her world.
Perfect for fans of dystopian sci-fi, fast-paced action, emotional depth, and unrelenting stakes. Dive into Renata’s race against time today!
