Interview With Author Noel Wellington
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Worked in IT, as a software developer and technical writer, for quarter of a century. Now using my writing skills, to write fiction. Love science fiction, fantasy, detective, and action. My main format is a novel, and I wrote 15, of which one is a trilogy.
Also writing short stories and novellas as well as poetry.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
It is a science-fiction novel The Obstacle. Its main protagonist is discovered by a fictional human civilization, in a body of a young teenage girl who roams the seas on a board. But this is only an illusion. The inspiration for this novel came spontaneously, from my watching of a motor boat leaving a white trail across the blue sea waters.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Define usual!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Trying to keep my mind free from influences.
What are you working on now?
My new fantasy novel, The Lishovar Conspiracy, is at 170 pages. It tells of a medieval spymaster who discovers a magical plot by a hostile kingdom to attack his country’s ally.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Haven’t really tried to promote anything yet. Only posted once on GoodReads and left a few introductory chapters on InkItt and WhattPad.
What’s next for you as a writer?
My next step is to write more books.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
