Interview With Author Noor Saba
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a fresh graduate and an avid reader. My passion about writing books developed amidst my craze for reading books. I’ve written multiple books on wattpad since my teenage years and on Amazon I’ve recently published my debut novel.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
You are mine. Well there’s a taboo around interfaith relationships or any relationship with different background. Usually the difference between culture, tradition, values, religions, families is a huge hurdle to let love flourish between two people. Not many can understand this nor sympathize. And mostly because of peer pressure and these hurdles it seems impossible to carry on these relationships. So I wanted to write something to support such relationships. To let people know Love transcends all differences and there’s a hope in this case as well and they are not alone.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Well the thing about me is I can’t write in the evening or at night. I must right in the early morning or in the afternoon latest. After that my creative switch turns off.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
There’s not just one author that I can name. It’s a combination of many great works of great authors that I’ve read over the years that contributed to this flame inside me.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on my another book which is somehow similar in theme and value to “You are mine”. I’m planning to finish it soon and publish on Amazon as well.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still currently in the process of promoting my book and am in the early stages. Interacting on social groups and book clubs along with using such promotion sites seems best. I have yet to find out what works best for me.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
It’s all about the passion and love for writing. Making money or getting it out to the world or attracting readers etc is all secondary.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Show don’t tell.
What are you reading now?
I’m reading a couple of books currently. One of them is “by the river piedra I sat down and wept” if I’m not wrong. And it’s written by Paulo coehlo. I’m kinda obsessed with his work if I’m being honest.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Getting my book out there to reach it’s right audience that needs this.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“a conversation with god”, “bullied”, “a little life”, “east of eden” and alot more that I don’t even remember the names of. I’m bad with names in general.
