When an artist wakes from a nightmare in an underground chamber with no memory of how he had gotten there and, finding no exit, his attention falls to the dead man who’s body is in a chair as if to still be alive, only sleeping. Looking for answers, he finds a curious star engraved into the stone bedrock of the floor and performs a ritual to contact powers from beyond the light and dark to guide him safely out.

Meredith Hook, an insurance lawyer and amateur violinist who, after purchasing her grandparents’ home, finds herself amidst a looming backdrop of memories and frightening enemies who are out to settle old scores. She is plunged into a world of terror and bloodcurdling insane asylums full of mad Doctors and evil nurses, all serving a mad god who is seeking revenge. It’s all in Meredith’s attempt to see the brightest light there is to behold, but she must first face an impossible horror.
