Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Right now, I am working on Book #45. I began this journey in October 2012 and now find myself unable to stop. Once the books were written longhand, but after 40 of them health issues have forced me to find new ways to get the ideas from my mind and into the books. Special thanks to readers and their great reviews and other feedback.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The book is entitled “Deadly Afflictions” and was inspired by the millions of people who suffer from anxiety and other mental illness. It is also a murder mystery with a lot of twists and turns because that is the way my mind works.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I dream about my book ideas and then before I can get sleep at night, the books run like a movie through my head. Luckily I am able to convert my mind files to book files.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Millions, I am an avid reader of over 1000 books a year, I love old classics and have found hundreds of new authors who are amazing. I think every word read, is a influence into what is put onto paper by authors.
What are you working on now?
I am writing a conspiracy thriller. I have a tentative title of Fatal Pretense. It has a twisted ending I think readers will enjoy. Just starting on it and should have it done by March, I seem to write a book every month or two.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I use twitter and Facebook mostly, but love Awesome Gang, Readers Gazette and other sites that let authors put there books on for free.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you love writing, just do it. The sales are secondary to having someone say they love your story or that it meant something special to them.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Go with your gut. You have to write what you feel and others cannot know what is in your mind or what you are trying to say.
What are you reading now?
I have ten books on my list, so it is hard tosay, I read between 5 and 6 every day. I love a good mystery though.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Just putting words on paper and trying to get sleep. I also am an avid reviewer, in the top ten on Goodreads, and find this is also a passion.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
blank notebooks for my own story of course.
and a dictionary or thesaurus
also the Bible. so many great stories!
