Interview With Author Pam Betts
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a mother of three children and am married to a supportive husband. So far, I have published three books. One is a short story available exclusively on Amazon, while another is a hybrid full-length story published by Dorrance Publishing. My newest book has been published as an ebook.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My newest book is called R.A.P.E.D.
The inspiration behind this book came from a school friend from high school, who I remember being told she had been sexually assaulted. I never knew all the details of the situation, but I wanted to write a book that would give her justice in the end.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
The only unusual writing habits that I have are staying up late and working on my book. Sometimes I make a list of ideas for my book.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have read a lot of young adult books. I believe those types of books have influenced my book writing.
What are you working on now?
Honestly, right now I am working on promoting my newest book. I will soon start a new writing project: compiling a collection of Poems and short stories that my Dad has handwritten.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The method I use the most is my Facebook page.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t give up!! Share what is on your heart.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Always follow my dreams.
What are you reading now?
Not currently reading a lot. I’m currently only working on writing books and finding time to do my Bible studies.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To hopefully sell more of my books.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Vampire Academy, Where the Red Fern Grows. Anything else by Daniel Steel.
