Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I moved from Poland to Great Britain when I was 10 years old. Not able to speak the language I was thrown into the deep end as I went straight away to school with other children. Within about a year of going to school with English speaking students I picked up the language and with the upcoming school years, perfected it. I just finished my A-levels at school and between revision completed my first book “Space and Time – the stone of life”. The book is now published on Amazon and is perfect for any Sci-Fi/Adventure fans.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Space and Time – the stone of life” came to me as soon as I learned to write back when I was only 5 years old. At that time I had the foundational idea that 12 years later would form into what is now available on Amazon. As a child I loved adventure stories that could take me away from reality. The foundamental idea for the book was about a boy named John finding a time machine in his bedroom. By pressing the red button the boy was sent to a prehistoric land with dinosaurs that could talk. Since then, the idea has evolved along with the characters. I was insipired by other children’s authors – especially J.K Rowlling.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write best in the mornings which can be a little tricky especially as I still go to school, but I always find that my head functions best in the morning. I also tend to listen to classical music whilst writing or music from movie soundtracks as they help to keep me in the action that is happening within the book.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I was influenced by J.K Rowlling as she is living prove that if a story is good enough or interesting enough people will buy it and spread the word until more and more people buy it, expanding the book’s popularity. I was also influenced by Rick Riordan the author of the Percy Jackson series as he had never given up with his books even after a number of rejection letters.
What are you working on now?
Right now I am planning on merchendising the book I have already published on Amazon and afterwards I would love to write the sequel. I am very excited about the sequel because it will be something that no other writer has done so far with the children books. I will provide the children with exclusivity…
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have a few methods for promoting a book, although I haven’t done any of them: I will make a Facebook fan page, tell everyone about the book, send emails to my teachers at school, make posters which I will put out in libaries, schools, book stores, I will write to magazines, visit primary schools to offer myself as a reader and advertise my book on blogs.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
The main thing is to never give up and ensure you have done everything it took to get your book to the readers. Make sure you stay strong and believe that the book you have written is great.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Never give up and life will eventually give in” – this is also quote taken from my book.
What are you reading now?
Right now I am reading “The Diceman” which is a book I was given by my English teacher.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I would like to promote my book and ensure that the story is rather successful, only then I will begin to write the sequel.
What is your favorite book of all time?
My favorite book of all time would have to be the Percy Jackson series…
