Interview With Author Penelope McGrath
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi! I am a new author and have written two books. One of them just became available for sale on Amazon, and the first book is a freebie that can be found at the end of the book that is for sale. I am currently working on book 3 ๐
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is Dark Secret Life. It was inspired by the simple reasons that drive people to do the wrong thing for the “greater good” and how it can backfire on a psychological level.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not that I am aware of, but I do like to brainstorm lots of ideas and then glue them together.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am heavily influenced by psychology, human behavior, sociology, and true-crime books and documentaries.
What are you working on now?
I am working on a book about one of the characters mentioned in my book Dark Secret Life. The book is about what decisions drove him to his current situation and how the psychological trauma of those decisions affects his life overall. His life rolls like a catastrophic avalanche effect.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am still finding that out, but I do a lot of newsletter swaps with other authors.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
The only way to fail is to give up. Get back up, try it differently, and keep doing it… you got this!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The same one I just gave out.
“The only way to fail is to give up. Get back up, try it differently, and keep doing it… you got this!”
What are you reading now?
Websites like kindlepreneur, my subscribers’ emails and reviews, and my own books. I want to make sure I do everything I can do well and I avoid everything I should avoid. knowledge is power!
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m taking it one step at a time.. just focusing on my book performance and completing the next book.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
