Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live in the intermountain west of the United States with my wife and children. In addition to being an author, I am a musician–I write and record music in addition to playing live on a fairly regular basis. You can hear some of my music on my website if you are interested.
I have written the first two books of my epic fantasy series (The Lemurian Chronicles). Book One is called Children of the Blessing and it is currently available on Amazon. Book Two is called Chaos Rising and it is currently in the editing phase and scheduled to be released by the end of 2018 or early 2019. I have also written a Novella called Renn and the Bounty Hunters. It is a spin-off from the epic series and you can either purchase it on Amazon or get a free copy by subscribing to my newsletter on my website at www.perrymorris.net.
My hobbies include skiing, football, reading, playing music, dancing, hanging out with my wife, kids and grandkids.
Thanks for taking time to read this. I hope you enjoy my stories and music.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent published book is Children of the Blessing and when I was twenty-six I had a brother-in-law say to me: “I’m going to write a book”. I thought that was amazing and would be a lot of fun, so I decided to write a book. My brother-in-law didn’t get past a few chapters, but I continued for years (decades to be exact) to work on my writing and stories until I finally felt comfortable publishing my epic fantasy series.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think so. I do have spreadsheet databases to help me keep straight all of my characters, governments, histories, monetary systems, etc..
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Of course J.R.R Tolkien is the author that first opened my mind to the amazing world of fantasy. After that I was inspired by: Terry Brooks, Patricia McKillap, Ann McCaffery, David Eddings, Raymond Feist, Terry Goodkind, and most recently Brandon Sanderson.
What are you working on now?
Audio version of Children of the Blessing and the final editing of Chaos Rising (book II of The Lemurian Chronicles).
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have about 1400 people on my newsletter subscription and they are the most responsive to my “calls to action”
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Write. Write.
Edit. Edit. Edit.
Also, start working on your “brand.” Build an online following as well as a mailing list while you are writing. Once you are ready to publish, whether indie or with a publishing house, that online presence and mailing list will really make a difference in book sales.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
What are you reading now?
I just finished “City of Shards” by Steve Rodgers. I am about to start reading “Eloy’s Discovery” by Kara Timmins.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Once Chaos Rising is published I will focus on book III of the Lemurian Chronicles. I have plans for five books in this series (although it may end up taking 6 – 7), and then I will write a couple prequels and several sequels. I also have 3 or 4 other single book fantasy novels that I will write in between the longer series’s.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Stormlight Archive (Brandon Sanderson)
Belgariad & Malorean (David Eddings)
That’s 13 books and counting because Brandon isn’t finished with the Starlight Archive yet.
