Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an accomplished chef and baker, movie fanatic, a proud father and husband, and a Clinical Exercise Physiologist by trade. My books are the culmination of my own personal, life-changing journey of triumphing over the PTSD of my traumatic upbringing. I hope to inspire readers to bravely fight their own battles with anxiety and depression.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I have always had a passion for writing and publishing my stories has been a lifelong goal. I spent my entire life being a fan of horror, and through my own personal experiences, developed characters and a story that were a really unique blend.
Preternatural Evolution is the exciting sequel to the original sleeper hit—Preternatural!
It’s been fifteen years since the vampire Blackheart was defeated, leaving Meadowsville desolate and broken.
Alexandra has returned to take over her father’s church but is struggling to find her true purpose. Torn by her shaky loyalty to Christian Reed—the unstable town antihero who vanquished Blackheart years ago—and increasing efforts at seduction and manipulation from Blackheart himself, she is forced to face all her deepest traumas and insecurities.
As the town’s only hope, Alexandra must gather her strength and transcend her terror in order to battle these adversitiesor risk losing the very soul of Meadowsville.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I develop a playlist of songs that help embody the characters and overall feel to the story. I listen to it when I have cases of writer’s block or just need to think and develop the story further.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I really feel that HG Well’s works like The Invisible Man and The Island of Dr Moreau mirror my style of writing. I always Stephen King’s content and depth, too.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Connect with your fellow authors and develop a solid network of resources. Goodreads is a gold mine of free resources and has so many talented people that you can find on there.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never give up on your dreams! It took me 25 years to publish my first book and it was well worth the effort and time!
What are you reading now?
I’m between books right now, but may start Mouse Trap by Carlton Mellick. His books are just scary, insane and fun!
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to complete my work on the Preternatural trilogy (The third and final book due out in Spring of 2022) and then reevaluate what I want to do next as an author. I may take a break or even retire from writing, but if there enough of a demand for it, I will proceed with more books.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
IT by Stephen King, Ring Shout by P Djeli Clark, and The HG Wells Collection.
