About Prayers for Evil: A Novel by P.G. Smith
With autumn leaves turning to crimson and gold, the scent of wood smoke in the wind, and a chill in the air, fall arrives in a small Maine town. But soon fear infects the peaceful village when an evil force rises up from the ashes of dark medieval rituals. A long dormant curse, with tentacles in the Nazi obsession with the occult and New England’s violent past, spins an invisible web of danger that threatens to ensnare everyone in the small town. Chris Murphy arrives in Maine with his little daughter to take on a new job assignment. On the rebound from an ugly breakup, he seeks a new life and a fresh start. Before long he finds career challenges, new friends, and a sizzling new romance. But another quiet newcomer unleashes an evil force that strikes down the town’s residents one by one. A web of mysterious accidents soon threatens to ensnare those closest to Chris. With only the help of a most unlikely partner, can he find the roots of this wickedness on Halloween night and defeat it before it destroys the people he loves most?
