About Project Renaissance: White Wings
2021 READERS’ FAVORITE SILVER MEDAL AWARD WINNER
His family vanishes.
One cryptic clue appears.
A global conspiracy emerges.
Solis won capitalism. The mega-corporation invented the contact lens that augments reality, effectively retiring the smartphone. Individuals can now enhance their reality to make it appear however they please. Life is artificially blissful.
Except for Booker Vaux. When his family vanishes, unrequested hallucinations begin to plague him. The man heralded as one of Cleveland’s most esteemed detectives begins to see his world unravel. Several sleepless nights of fruitless searching push him to the edge, until a strange woman offers a breakthrough. One cryptic clue sends him on a quest outside of his own jurisdiction—in violation of both his orders and the law. However, when the clues lead to Solis’s doorstep, a conspiracy emerges that threatens not just his family, but the entire world. To prevent the unspeakable horror, he will risk not only his life, but his sanity.

Author Bio:
They say everyone’s favorite subject is themselves. This may be true, but I’ve always felt awkward writing about myself and my personal life. I don’t usually find myself reading the “about the author” section in other writer’s works. They bore me. Although, I read a fantasy novel recently where the about the author section simply listed information about their dungeons and dragon’s character. Well done.
As I am not a level 46 elf-fairy hybrid with magic spells, I’ll tell you a bit about myself. My name is Brian Gates. No pen name. I enjoy many activities, with reading topping out the list. Please try to contain your shock. A writer who enjoys reading? Preposterous. In the literary world I find myself reading Dean R Koontz more than probably any other author. I’ve always admired his style, the way he can blend genres seamlessly. Many others have influenced me too, including but not limited to: George Orwell, Stephen King, D.J. MacHale and Andy Weir. For other activities, you’ll either find me playing video games or hiking. I’ve been informed that drinking is not an appropriate hobby to list in this section. So I shan’t mention it.
I live in Northeast Ohio, graduated from Kent State in 2014, and currently have one cat and one dog. The dog is a chihuahua. If you ever encounter it, she probably won’t like you. I also live with my fiancé. She’s very supportive and gracious enough to inform me that I need to retake my author photos. Apparently, neon is tacky. Anyway, this has gone on quite long enough. I hope you enjoy the book.
