Interview With Author Raven The Norseman
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a viticulturist, author, women’s self-defense instructor, dancer, and work with wildlife rehabilitation centers and sanctuaries. So far, I’ve published five books, but several more are in the works.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Hero, Vol. 4: A Self-Improvement Workbook Series: Buying Wealth With Money
I wrote this book due to poverty. I wanted to give, but I couldn’t. The old saying is if you want to learn about something, write a book on it. While I am not rich beyond words, I do have abundance and am able to enjoy life to a much greater degree. It is my hope this book helps others do the same.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write first thing in the morning, before any conversations or distractions. First, I write my book, then I research and write more before beta readers and editors. I write it first because I want to draw on all of my own experiences before I hear what others have to say.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Too many to mention, but two are Robert Greene and Brooke Burgess.
What are you working on now?
Hero, Vol. 5: Relationships: Finding, Keeping, & Parting Ways
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Word of mouth by awesome people like you.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write from the heart. It is the only way to write something new. And before you publish, do ten times what anyone says to do to have a good pre-launch, such as ARCs, ads, social media, newsletters, and the like. Research this. If you write a great book, but it has a bad cover, poor title, and no one sees it, it will not be read. They are called best sellers, not best books, for a reason. And for the record, you are not selling out. If your book is good, I want to read it, so let me know about it!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Always listen to advice. If not now, you or another might need it later.
What are you reading now?
A long list of about 100 books on relationships.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ll never stop. My goal is for my works to help people either heal or never need to.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
A big one full of quotes, another on how to survive on a deserted island, how to cope with isolation, and a huge book of jokes.
