Interview With Author Regina Clarinda
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Regina Clarinda, a writer who loves creating Christian devotionals that bring comfort, encouragement, and hope to everyday life. I’ve published two devotionals so far, and I’m currently working on my third, which I’m excited to share in March 2026. My goal is to help readers pause, reflect, and feel God’s presence in the midst of life’s challenges.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Held by His Love: A Christian Devotional for the Weary Heart Seeking Faith, Healing, and Hope. I was inspired to write it for anyone who feels weary, lost, or overwhelmed and longs for a gentle reminder of God’s presence. Through over 200 reflections, poems, and meditative writings, I wanted to create a space where readers can pause, reflect, and experience God’s love and encouragement in their daily lives.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have a bit of an unusual habit when I write devotionals—I often talk to God out loud while I’m writing, like He’s my co-author! 😄 I also like to write with soft music or piano in the background, and sometimes I pause just to pray or reflect on what I’ve written. It keeps the process inspired, a little unpredictable, and always connected to the heart of the message.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve been inspired by authors who make faith feel approachable and comforting, like Joel Osteen and Sarah Young. Honestly, I also keep going back to the Bible itself—it’s my ultimate guide! 😄 I love how some devotionals and even poetry can turn a simple thought into something meaningful for the heart. Their work reminds me that writing can be uplifting, personal, and sometimes even a little fun.
What are you working on now?
Right now, I’m working on my third devotional, Formed in His Hands: 90 Daily Devotions to Grow Spiritually, Walk in Obedience, and Embrace God’s Purpose. I love that this book is all about helping readers grow spiritually, follow God’s guidance, and embrace the unique plan He has for their lives. Every day of writing feels like a little journey of reflection and inspiration, and I hope readers feel that same encouragement as they go through it!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I rarely use social media, so I mostly promote my books through sites like Freebooksy. It’s a great way to reach readers who love devotionals and let the books speak for themselves.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
My advice for new authors? Just start writing—even if it’s messy! 😄 Don’t worry about being perfect or following trends. Write from your heart, share your unique voice, and trust that your words can encourage someone who really needs them. Every book, every page, every word is a step forward—so keep going, even when it feels slow.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve ever heard is: “Be faithful in the small things.” Even little acts of faith—like writing a short devotional or pausing to reflect—can make a big impact over time.
What are you reading now?
Right now, I’m diving into a mix of Christian devotionals and inspirational books. I love reading things that encourage my heart, and sometimes even make me think, “Hmm, maybe I should write that too!” It’s my little daily way to get inspired, reflect, and recharge for writing my own devotionals.
What’s next for you as a writer?
What’s next for me as a writer is continuing to encourage and uplift readers through devotionals. I’m focused on finishing my third devotional, Formed in His Hands, and exploring new ways to share God’s love and guidance in everyday life. My goal is to keep creating reflections that help readers reflect and feel inspired on their spiritual journey.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
If I were stranded on a desert island, I’d definitely bring the Bible—no debate there! I’d also pack a favorite Christian devotional, an inspirational poetry book, and maybe a classic novel I could read over and over. That way, I’d have faith, encouragement, and a little entertainment to keep my spirits up while waiting for rescue!
